WorksheetFunction.AveDev method (Excel)

Returns the average of the absolute deviations of data points from their mean. AveDev is a measure of the variability in a data set.

Syntax

expression.AveDev (Arg1, Arg2, Arg3, Arg4, Arg5, Arg6, Arg7, Arg8, Arg9, Arg10, Arg11, Arg12, Arg13, Arg14, Arg15, Arg16, Arg17, Arg18, Arg19, Arg20, Arg21, Arg22, Arg23, Arg24, Arg25, Arg26, Arg27, Arg28, Arg29, Arg30)

expression A variable that represents a WorksheetFunction object.

Parameters

Name Required/Optional Data type Description
Arg1 - Arg 30 Required Variant 1 to 30 arguments for which you want the average of the absolute deviations. You can also use a single array or a reference to an array instead of arguments separated by commas.

Double

Remarks

AveDev is influenced by the unit of measurement in the input data.

Arguments must either be numbers or be names, arrays, or references that contain numbers.

Logical values and text representations of numbers that you type directly into the list of arguments are counted.

If an array or reference argument contains text, logical values, or empty cells, those values are ignored; however, cells with the value zero are included.
