sys.database_audit_specifications (Transact-SQL)

This article contains information about the database audit specifications in a SQL Server audit on a server instance. For more information, see SQL Server Audit (Database Engine).

Column name Data type Description
Name sysname Name of the auditing specification.
database_specification_id int ID of the database specification.
create_date datetime Date the audit specification was created.
modify_date datetime Date the audit specification was last modified.
audit_guid uniqueidentifier GUID for the audit that contains this specification. Used during enumeration of member database audit specifications during database attach/startup.
is_state_enabled bit Audit specification state:

0 - DISABLED

1 - ENABLED

Remarks

If a database is in ready-only mode, the SQL Server Audit feature can't add Database Audit Specifications.

Permissions

Principals with the ALTER ANY DATABASE AUDIT or VIEW DEFINITION permissions, the dbo role, and members of the db_owners fixed database role have access to this catalog view. In addition, the principal must not be denied VIEW DEFINITION permission.

The visibility of the metadata in catalog views is limited to securables that a user either owns, or on which the user was granted some permission. For more information, see Metadata Visibility Configuration.
