This section contains technical documentation for building Windows apps with the Universal Windows Platform (UWP).
The documentation here is for things that are specific to UWP apps. Many Windows Runtime features used by UWP apps are also used by WinUI, WPF, WinForms, or Win32 apps. You can find documentation for these features in the Windows App Development documentation.
Documentation
An explanation of what UWP is, how it works, and the features it provides.
Use WinUI 2 for UWP to get the latest versions of XAML controls. WinUI 2 for UWP provides official native Windows XAML UI controls and other user interface elements for UWP applications.
WinUI 3 is Microsoft's modern native user interface framework for building Windows desktop applications. To migrate your app from the Universal Windows Platform (UWP) to the Windows App SDK, your UI code likely needs just a few namespace changes, while much of your platform code can stay the same.
