How to: Set up Developer Computers for Version Control Using Team Foundation Server

This topic deals with how to set up and connect to the developer and administrator computers to use Team Foundation Server (TFS) for version control in Microsoft Dynamics AX.
To complete the following task you will need:
To install prerequisite software.
To connect Team Explorer to the version control server database.
Note
You may have already connected Team Explorer to the version control server database on the administrator computer.
To install the prerequisite software on developer and administrator computers
Install the operating system. See https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=113164&clcid=0x409 for system requirements.
Install Microsoft SQL Server. See https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=113164&clcid=0x409 for system requirements.
Install Microsoft Dynamics AX. See https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=162928 for access to the Microsoft Dynamics AX Installation Guide.
Install Team Explorer on the administrator computer if it is not already installed. See Team Foundation Installation Guide for Visual Studio 2010 or TFS 2012 Install and Administration Guides for installation instructions.
To connect Team Explorer to the version control server database
In Team Explorer, click Tools > Connect to Team Foundation Server.
Type the name of the Team Foundation Server if it does not appear, select the Team Project, and then click OK.
