Open an Office account in Partner Center

To publish your Office solutions to Microsoft AppSource, you first need to set up a developer account. You sign up for a developer account using your Microsoft Entra ID work account.

Note

If you have an existing Microsoft account that you used to sign in to Seller Dashboard, that account will continue to work in Partner Center.

Depending on your scenario, you might be able to use an existing Partner Center developer account. The following table lists the possible developer account scenarios.

Scenario Developer account options
No existing Partner Center program registrations. Sign up for a new account using your work or school account.
Registered for another Partner Center program with your work or school account. Reuse your existing account or choose to create a new account.
Registered for another Partner Center program with your Microsoft account. Associate your Microsoft Entra work or school account with your existing seller account.
Registered as an Office developer with your Microsoft account. Choose to associate your Microsoft Entra work or school account with your existing seller account or keep your existing Office developer account.
Registered as an Office developer with your Microsoft account and you want to register for the Commercial Marketplace program. Choose to associate your Microsoft Entra work or school account with your existing seller account, or sign up for the Commercial Marketplace program with your work or school account and reuse your existing seller account.

Before you begin

To create an Office developer account on Partner Center, make sure that you have:

  • Authority to sign legal agreements on your company's behalf.
  • Your company's legal business name, address, and primary contact (this can be you).

We verify this information during the account creation process.

Create your developer account

You can create an account in one of two ways:

Create a Partner Center account and enroll in the Microsoft 365 and Copilot program

If you're new to Partner Center, or aren't enrolled in the Microsoft AI Cloud Partner Program, create your account:

  1. Go to the Partner Center enrollment page.
  2. If you're new to Partner Center, create a new work account from the Welcome to Partner Center page. If you've an existing work account, sign in with that account so that you can link your company's work email account domain to your new Partner Center account. By associating these accounts, your company employees can sign in to Partner Center with their work account user names and passwords.

Note

To determine whether your company already has a work account and for information about how to create a new work account or set up multiple work accounts to use with Partner Center, see Your company work account and Partner Center.

  1. Provide your publisher profile. Your publisher profile includes your company info, publisher info, and contact info.
  2. After you've confirmed your publisher profile information, agree to the terms and conditions in the Microsoft Office Agreement. If you're new to Microsoft AI Cloud Partner Program, you also need to agree to the terms and conditions in the Microsoft AI Cloud Partner Program Agreement. Select Accept and continue to create your Partner Center account.

Important

You must be authorized to act on your company's behalf in order to accept these terms.

If your tenant already has an existing enrollment in Partner Center, a list of accounts appears in the dropdown to choose from. Select an account, and your Office enrollment will be associated with the same accounts.

Use an existing Microsoft AI Cloud Partner Program account to register to the Microsoft 365 and Copilot program:

  1. Sign in to Partner Center using your existing credentials.
  2. Select Settings (gear icon) > Account settings > Programs.
  3. On the Your Programs page, in the Microsoft 365 and Copilot tile, choose Get Started.
  4. If you're already enrolled in Microsoft AI Cloud Partner Program, select Next from the page where the list of programs are listed.

You'll be taken to Account settings > Identifiers > Publisher tab.

  1. Either select an existing publisher account or create a new one:

    • Create a publisher account:

      1. Select the Add publisher option on top of the publisher table.
      2. Select Microsoft 365 and Copilot from the programs list.
      3. Select the PartnerID that you want to link to your publisher account and enter your company name.

The Microsoft AI Cloud Partner Program detects your subscription and displays the Publisher profile pane.

    • Enroll an existing publisher account in the Microsoft 365 and Copilot program:

You need to have the Owner role in the existing publisher account to enroll in the Microsoft 365 and Copilot program.

All publisher accounts in your Microsoft Entra tenant enrolled in the Microsoft 365 and Copilot program are displayed in the table. You can know the programs of the publisher account by checking the Active programs column.

      1. Select a publisher account not already enrolled in the Microsoft 365 and Copilot program by selecting the radio button to the left side of the row.
      2. Select Add program > Microsoft 365 and Copilot.
      3. Select the PartnerID you want to link to your publisher account and enter your company name. If you already have a PartnerID associated with this publisher account, you won't be able to edit it.
  2. Read the terms and conditions in the Microsoft Publisher Agreement, and then select Accept and continue to complete your enrollment.

    Important

To accept these terms, you must be authorized to act on your company's behalf.

You've now created a Microsoft 365 and Copilot account in Partner Center.

  3. Continue to Add new publishers to the Microsoft 365 and Copilot program.

  4. Verify that the Microsoft 365 and Copilot program is listed as registered: In the top-right of the page, select Settings > Account settings > Programs.
