Manage your business profile (Partner ID based)

Now partners can manage and publish business profiles using Partner IDs. We've introduced a set of rules and guidelines to enhance the experience of managing and creating business profiles for partners to present expertise and designations to potential customers on AppSource. This document outlines the key changes to help navigate this process effectively.

Note

This change is only for pilot partners recruited during the ideation phase. For rest the feature will be generally available (GA) after June 01, 2024.

Key points to note

  • All new profiles created after GA (June 01, 2024) will be Partner ID based.
  • Partners have 120 days from the day of General availability to migrate to modern profile from existing profile.
  • Separate flows for Cloud Solution Provider (CSP; resellers) and ISVs/SI business profile creation.
  • CSP(Resellers) partners are only allowed to create and publish profiles in designated CSP regions. For information on CSP regions, see Azure plan for CSP region availability.

Your company's location determines your market. Your market includes the regions and/or countries where you can sell CSP program offers.

For example:

  • If your company is located in the United States, you can sell CSP offers to customers in the United States and in U.S. Minor Outlying Islands.
  • If your company is located in Brazil, you can sell CSP offers to customers only in Brazil.
  • If your company is located in the Africa region, you can sell CSP offers to customers in all 18 countries in the Africa region.

Partners enrolled in the Microsoft AI Cloud Partner Program (services) and ISVs can create and publish profiles anywhere in the world without any physical address or presence.

Many partners operate as hybrids, combining SI, ISV, and CSP models. The new system accommodates this by allowing partners to have both types of profiles, tailored to their distinct business operations.
