The 2023 release wave 1 plan covers all new functionalities planned to be delivered to market from April 2023 to September 2023. In this article, you'll find the product overview and what's new and planned for pro development.

Overview

Microsoft Power Platform offers a rich spectrum of extensibility points and tooling capabilities that provide code-first developers with great experience for Power Platform application development. This experience enables enterprises to iterate faster and establish fusion development as a new standard where low-code and code-first developers can collaborate and build without limits.

For 2023 release wave 1, we'll continue our investments in our Visual Studio Code extension, GitHub Actions, and Azure DevOps build tools to support building and deploying custom connectors and provide deeper integration with Microsoft Azure.

Power Platform code-first development
Code-first development on Microsoft Power Platform enables professional developers to participate and stretch the capabilities of Power Platform. As a code-first developer, you can enable fusion teams where low-code and code-first approaches intersect. Fusion development offers great experiences for the professional developer when extending Power Platform and provides a no-cliffs application development experience.
