What’s changing: The modern, refreshed look becomes the required experience for all model-driven apps across all release channels, including the semi-annual channel. This update removes the app setting New look for model-driven apps, so users can't revert back to classic look. All users see the modern look by default and can't revert to the previous interface.
Admin guidance: Review internal documentation, training, and screenshots to align with the modern look. If you maintain scripts or troubleshooting guides that reference the old toggle or admin settings, update those references.
User impact: Users experience the modern look consistently across apps and across all release channels, including the semi-annual channel. No action is required from end users.
Release channel: This change is included only in the semi-annual channel. It is delivered in the 2026 release wave 1 (April) and doesn't ship through the monthly channel. Build: 9.2.2603.3. Semi-annual environments receive this change during the April 2026 general availability rollout for their region.
