App-V 5.0 und die Sache mit den User Profil Disks

Hallo zusammen,

UPD oder USer Profile Disk ist ein feature was in Windows Server 2012 eingeführt wurde:

Einige Unternehmen nutzen dieses Feature schon bzw. planen es zu nutzen.

Da App-V auch sehr viele Daten im Profil vorhält ist es wichtig zu wissen worauf man achten muss, bzw. welche Probleme es gibt bzw. geben kann.

Als Grundvoraussetzung braucht man App-V 5.0 SP2 HF4 bzw. HF5.

Dann kommt es darauf an wir man UPH Konfioguriert hat:

Bei Möglichkeit 2 treten sehr schnell folgende Probleme auf:

Description:

The virtual application 'C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\AppV\Client\Integration\45160AA9-52B9-4B58-8835-CF0B5CACCA6A\Root\notepad++.exe' could not be started because the App-V Subsystem 'Virtual Filesystem' could not be initialized. {error: 0x6740090A-0x20003}

 

Sollten diese Probleme auch mit Möglichkeit 1 auftreten dann liegt das daran dass der Benutzername länger als 8 Zeichen ist. (Fehler sind identisch)

Dieses Problem Adressieren wir mit dem kommenden App-V Release.

    Quick Translation: using the User Profile Disk feature may cause errors (as in the original post). If 'Store all use settings...' is selected, the error may occur only if the user name is longer than 8 characters. If 'Store only the following folders...' is selected, the error may occur regardless of the length of the user name. As a requirement for using the UPD at all, App-V 5 SP 2 HF 4 (or above) is required. Microsoft is going to address this issue in an upcoming release.

    Great! I'm just in the middle of a Windows 8.1 VDI rollout via MS native RDS Services and stumbled across this issue. What does MS think how real VDI environments work? UPD is such a great idea and SCCM (AppV) is such a great Management tool but these great tools don't really work together at so many little big Points. Do you have a timeline for the upcoming release?
