How to: Find a Shelveset

Shelving lets you set aside the pending changes in your workspace to work on a higher priority task or to share your code with another user for code review. The following procedure demonstrates how to find an existing shelveset to make it easier to unshelve, view details, or delete.

Required Permissions

To perform these procedures, you must have the Read permission on at least one item set to Allow. For more information, see Team Foundation Server Permissions.

To find a shelveset

  1. In Team Explorer, select the applicable team project.

  2. On the File menu, click Source Control, and then click Unshelve.

    Note

The Unshelve option is not available if you have pending changes, or if the Team Foundation Server files are out of sync with the workspace. The most reliable method is to unshelve using the Pending Changes window. For more information, see How to: View and Manage All Pending Changes in Your Workspace.

  3. In the Unshelve dialog box, enter the name or alias of a team project team member, and then click Find.

  4. In the Results list, click the shelveset for which you are searching.

In The Unshelve dialog box, you can view shelveset details, delete a shelveset, or perform an unshelve operation. For more information, see How to: View Details for Shelvesets, How to: Delete a Shelveset and How to: Shelve and Unshelve Pending Changes.

  5. Click Close.
