Admin.SetCompatibilityMode Method

Sets the Project Server compatibility mode for Project Professional.

Parameters

• mode
  Type: System.Int32
  Can be one of the Admin.CompatibilityModes constants.

Remarks

Project Server compares mode with the ProjectServer2007 value. If mode = ProjectServer2010, the compatibility mode is turned off. A mode value of 0 sets Project Server to run in native mode, which can connect only with Project Professional 2010.

When Project Server 2007 is upgraded to Project Server 2010, the compatibility mode value is ProjectServer2007 by default. This enables Project Professional 2007 to connect to Project Server 2010. When compatibility mode is turned off, Project Server 2010 cannot be downgraded at a later time.

The Additional Server Settings page in Project Web App (https://ServerName/ProjectServerName/_layouts/pwa/Admin/ServerConfig.aspx) includes the compatibility mode setting.

Project Server Permissions

Permission	Description
ManageServerConfiguration	Allows a user to manage the configuration information for Project Server. Global permission.
