Управлять внешним видом строк DataGridView можно при помощи одного или обоих событий DataGridView.RowPrePaint и DataGridView.RowPostPaint. Эти события устроены так, что можно нарисовать только нужный элемент и позволить элементу управления DataGridView рисовать все остальное. Например, если нужно нарисовать измененный фон, можно обработать событие DataGridView.RowPrePaint и позволить отдельным ячейкам нарисовать собственное основное содержимое. Или же можно позволить ячейкам нарисовать себя и добавить настраиваемый основной цвет в обработчике события DataGridView.RowPostPaint. Также можно отключить прорисовку ячеек и самостоятельно все нарисовать в обработчике событий DataGridView.RowPrePaint.
В следующем примере кода реализованы обработчики для обоих событий, чтобы обеспечить выбор градиента фона и настраиваемый основной цвет для нескольких столбцов.
