IVMRWindowlessControl9::GetMaxIdealVideoSize method (vmr9.h)
[The feature associated with this page, DirectShow, is a legacy feature. It has been superseded by MediaPlayer, IMFMediaEngine, and Audio/Video Capture in Media Foundation. Those features have been optimized for Windows 10 and Windows 11. Microsoft strongly recommends that new code use MediaPlayer, IMFMediaEngine and Audio/Video Capture in Media Foundation instead of DirectShow, when possible. The GetMaxIdealVideoSize method retrieves the maximum video size that the VMR can display without incurring significant performance or image quality degradation.
Syntax
HRESULT GetMaxIdealVideoSize(
[out] LONG *lpWidth,
[out] LONG *lpHeight
);
Parameters
[out] lpWidth
Pointer that receives the maximum ideal width.
[out] lpHeight
Pointer that receives the maximum ideal height.
Return value
The method returns an HRESULT. Possible values include those in the following table.
