Windows Update error 0x8024500c
A few weeks ago i realised that i cannot launch "Windows Update" in the settings. When i open "Windows Update" it was saying something like "Settings unable to open this. Please try again later" And there was nothing else but a stop button that doesn't even work. So i opened services and set "Update Orchestrator Service" to "Automatic". After that the "Windows Update" section looked normal but when i pressed "Check for updates" an error came up and it was 0x8024500c.
Of course i searched for help in online sources but none of them worked for me. I also tried sfc /scannow and DISM after launching CMD as Administrator. DISM just doesn't work and sfc says that it found corrupted files but cannot fix some fo them. There are so many different type of updates that is uninstalled. It would take me so much time to download them manually, that would make it even worse maybe. I looked at "Optional Updates" at Windows Update Settings and tried them. They have worked with no problem.

2024-08-24T06:30:04+00:00 The Troubleshooter found and fixed a problem: "Service record is missing or corrupted". It didn't fixed my problem as expected.
It seemed like Background Intelligent Transfer was not set to Automatic or Automatic (delay) so i set it to Automatic (delay) and restarted my computer.
I restarted Windows Update and Background Intelligent Transfer from services while they were working.
I launched CMD as Administrator and tried these commands in order:
1- DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
2- sfc /scannow
At DISM command this was the result i met:
C:\Windows\System32>DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool
Version: 10.0.22621.2792
Image Version: 10.0.22631.3085

For more information on specifying a source location, see https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=243077. The DISM log file can be found at C:\WINDOWS\Logs\DISM\dism.log
And this was the result i met at sfc /scannow command:
C:\Windows\System32>sfc /scannow
Beginning system scan. This process will take some time.
Beginning verification phase of system scan.
Verification 100% complete.
Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them. For online repairs, details are included in the CBS log file located at windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For offline repairs, details are included in the log file provided by the /OFFLOGFILE flag.
Right after i restarted computer but nothing was changed.
I tried the bat file for restarting Windows Update Components.
At some points i met this:
Cannot reset Windows Update since "Cryptographic Services" (cryptsvc) service failed to stop. Please restart the computer, and try again.
Press any key to continue . . .,
in order to check whats wrong i tried to stop cryptsvc manually:
C:\Windows\System32>net stop cryptsvc
The following services are dependent on the Cryptographic Services service.
Stopping the Cryptographic Services service will also stop these services.
AVG Tools
AVG Antivirus
Avast Tools
Avast Antivirus
Do you want to continue this operation? (Y/N) [N]:
Of course i typed Y:
The requested pause, continue, or stop is not valid for this service.
Type NET HELPMSG 2191 for more help.
C:\Windows\System32>
I tried disabling those antivirusses, however disabling them didn't change anything.

If the issue still persists, please try performing an In-place Upgrade. It will definitely help in resolving update errors. Performing this can repair broken operating system files while your personal files, settings and installed applications will not be removed.

Few things to check on the PC
**Unplug all external peripherals except for the Mouse, Keyboard, and LAN cable before starting
**Disable or uninstall any 3rd party Anti-Virus program to prevent it from interfering with the upgrade

2024-08-24T05:35:53+00:00 Hello John Dev, thank you alot for answering to my problem and trying to help me.
I looked up to the link you sent, however that was not the main problem.
At the start Windows Update section looked familiar to the link you sent. The only difference were there was a long box that looks like "Other Settings" GUI in Windows Update Settings. And inside that box there was a stop sign button that i cannot interact with. While i was trying to fix this issue i already set Update Orchestrator Service to Automatic. After i restarted my computer and the Windows Update section GUI looked pretty normal, like it was used to be. I pressed "Check for updates" but it gave me an error like this: "There were some problems installing updates, but we'll try again later. If you keep seeing this and want to search the web or contact support for information, this may help: (0x8024500c)"
