Windows 10 desktop client incorrectly blocks personal Microsoft accounts

I am submitting this feedback from the Teams mobile app because I cannot sign in to the Windows 10 desktop client to use the built-in feedback option.

Windows 10 22H2 (Build 19045.6466) Teams version: 26183.1903.4892.4448

The Windows desktop client always shows:

"Personal accounts aren't supported yet in Teams (Preview). Please use Teams on the web."

However:

The same Microsoft account works perfectly on Teams Web.

The same Microsoft account also works on another Windows 10 PC using the Teams desktop app.

The issue only occurs on this Windows 10 installation.

I have already:

Reinstalled Teams using TeamsBootstrapper.

Cleared Teams cache and Windows Credential Manager.

Reinstalled Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime.

Repaired Windows using DISM and SFC.

Removed and reinstalled all Teams AppX packages.

None of these steps resolved the issue.

Please investigate whether the current Windows 10 Teams desktop client is incorrectly detecting personal Microsoft accounts as unsupported or incorrectly entering Preview mode.

This is a bug. It has been reported.

You can do this to install it and log in with personal account.

Try these steps

First, close and uninstall Teams via Windows settings > Apps.

Log in to the web version, then select "Meet" to generate a meeting link.

Paste the meeting link into a new browser tab and open it; once you see the "Join your Teams meeting" screen, look for the "Download now" option at the bottom and install the application.

After installation, the option to join the meeting will appear immediately; look for the "Sign in" option at the bottom, log in with your account, see if it lets you.
