Small Businesses To Benefit from IT Makeovers In 2015
Technology is not usually a high priority for businesses when starting up, however, it’s an area that can be pivotal to successful long-term growth.
Having the right technology from the start can bring small businesses a big competitive advantage, and can be the difference between success and failure. Technology boosts a business by giving greater mobility, productivity and importantly, provide long-term scalability in respect to dealing with those growth spurts and fluctuations that often occur.
Techover: Building a Foundation for Future Growth
In December, we launched our IT Makeover ‘Techover’ competition and challenged SMBs to tell us (creatively!) why they deserve to win a whopping £10,000 technology makeover.
We were overwhelmed by the creativity and humour that came our way, particularly in the Vine videos submitted. The two winning businesses (Pooch and Mutt, UK Fostering) both provided creative Vines which identified a genuine requirement for technology in order to facilitate the further growth of their businesses.
Over the next few months we are excited to be working with our small business winners and following them on their journey to overcoming common business challenges with new tech.

Pooch and Mutt - A happy and healthy life for all dogs
Pooch & Mutt products are formulated by Blue Chip Feed. Blue Chip is one of the world’s most successful equine supplement companies – and the first horse feed company to receive The Ethical Award. Blue Chip was set up in 1996 by Clare Blaskey.
In 2008 her son, Guy, set up Pooch & Mutt. For years people had asked Blue Chip to make products for dogs, then in 2007 the Blaskey family dog, Cookie, was diagnosed with Hip Dysplasia. This was the impetus that they needed to create the dog range.
Pooch & Mutt’s mission is to ensure that all dogs lead a happy and healthy life. This means not only creating the highest quality products with real benefits for dogs, but also ensuring that they are accessible to as many dogs as possible and doing this all without negatively effecting any dog’s life or environment.
