PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Unable to install .NET Framework 4.0.

SYMTOMPS: Installation of .Net framework 4.0 fails just after the extraction process finishes.

Installation Blockers:

1. You cannot use this setup program to install the .NET Framework. For more information, see the Readme file .

CAUSE:  The above error message is mostly due to the corruption of the source file.

RESOLUTION:

1) Download standalone installer for .Net Framework 4.0 from the official Microsoft website

https://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=17718

2) If it fails again then try to extract the standalone installer with the help of command:

“dotNetFx40_Full_x86_x64.exe /x”

Install it through command line:

“Setup.exe /x86 /x64”

    questa procedura non ha funzionao per me, ho risolto così:  se avete installato winrar, fate clic tasto desro su "dotNetFx40_Full_x86_x64.exe"   selezionare Aggiungi ad un archivio, mettere la spunta su "crea un archivio autoestaente"  cliccare su "Avanzati" in percorso di estrazione scrivere "C:NET4" in esegui dopo l'estrazione fai copia incolla senza virgolette "dotNetFx40_Full_x86_x64.exe /q /repair" aprire TASKMANAGER per vedere movimenti, attendere fine installazione, fatto!! enjoy netframework 4.
