Q: Will I damage calendar items for those mailboxes if they're updated in the wrong time zone?
A: When the items are updated we stamp the items with the time zone information and we store the UTC time of the appointment. As long as the time zone that the users are really in matches the start/end date of their configured time zone there is no problems
