SslStream.IsSigned Property

Definition

Gets a Boolean value that indicates whether the data sent using this stream is signed.

C#
public override bool IsSigned { get; }

Property Value

true if the data is signed before being transmitted; otherwise false.

Examples

The following code example demonstrates displaying the value of this property.

C#
static void DisplaySecurityServices(SslStream stream)
{
   Console.WriteLine("Is authenticated: {0} as server? {1}", stream.IsAuthenticated, stream.IsServer);
   Console.WriteLine("IsSigned: {0}", stream.IsSigned);
   Console.WriteLine("Is Encrypted: {0}", stream.IsEncrypted);
   Console.WriteLine("Is mutually authenticated: {0}", stream.IsMutuallyAuthenticated);
}

Remarks

Data signing helps to protect the integrity of the data, namely it helps the recipient determine whether the data has been tampered with while in transit.
