Business value
Today customers can use the Lifecycle Services API to perform servicing and database movement operations. However, to discover their environments they must manually go to the Lifecycle Services portal and copy down various details like the EnvironmentID. This adds manual steps to incorporate new environments, which is costly and time consuming.
Feature details
Customers make heavy use of the Lifecycle Services APIs today for servicing and database movement operations. However, to include new environments or discover environments which are on legacy versions, customers must do this manually in the Lifecycle Services portal today.
The new API will allow customers to programmatically query all of their Lifecycle Services-based environments, and catalog various important metadata properties such as the application and platform builds. This will allow for expanded automation scenarios where customers want to keep code and data consistent across new environments in their landscape.
