event

A significant action that occurs in the operating system or in an application such as Network Monitor. An event can notify users, write an entry to a log, or do both. In Network Monitor an expert can report events that are displayed in the event viewer window.

event reference page (ERP)

An HTML document that is displayed in the Network Monitor event viewer window, and associated with a defined event in an expert.

expert

A DLL that manipulates the frames collected in a capture file. An expert can provide a summary or report based on the captured data. For example, a top user report.
