Activity Tracking event session template is broken

With the release of SQL Server 2012 RC0 you will notice that a number of new session templates have shown up in both the New Session Wizard and the New Session dialog. One template in particular, Activity Tracking, is unfortunately broken “out of the box.” We found this problem too late to be able to fix it before releases of the RTM product, but it’s pretty easy to fix.

MVP Jonathan Kehayias has posted the steps to fix this problem along with a corrected copy of the Activity Tracking template – check it out.

We are hoping to fix this in the first service pack of SQL Server 2012.

    If you really can't make the two-minute fix before RTM, why not pull the template and re-add it when it's ready, instead of shipping it broken?

    I suppose things like that should be tested much regorously than just two-minute before RTM.
