Do you need a Triggers Admin tool for MSMQ 4.0 (Vista)?

The Triggers Admin utility (TrigAdm.exe) helps you manage MSMQ triggers from the command line.
Currently there are versions available for:

but nothing yet for MSMQ 4.0 (Windows Vista).

Is there any demand out there for an updated utility?

Please let me know so I can contact interested parties off-line to discuss.

I'd second the comments.  An updated trigadm is certainly a must for Vista.   Regards, Matt

We're trying to shell out to the trigadm tool on a x64 platform but it fails. Does anyone know Trigadm supports 64 bit OS? Or is this likely to be included when released for Vista.

A 64-bit version of TrigAdm is still on the product group's "To Do" list. The workaround is to use the 32-bit version as follows:

  • Copy MQTRIG.DLL from a 32-bit Windows 2003 machine to the WindowsSysWOW64 directory on the 64-bit machine.
  • From a command prompt set to the SysWOW64 directory, run "RegSvr32 MQTRIG.DLL" to register the DLL. Please note that the standard "unsupported" rules apply to this workaround.

What is the status of a 64-bit version of TrigAdm?  With Windows Server 2008 R2 being 64-bit only, it seems we need this tool even more now. Our application need to be able to programatically manage the Triggers and Rules. Regards, Dan

Hi Dan, I'm afraid that I don't have any news on 64-bit TrigAdm. Note that Windows Server 2008 R2 will still enable 32-bit applications to be executed through WoW64 as in Windows Server 2003 x64 Edition. I'll chase up the product group. Cheers John Breakwell (MSFT)

I've raised a formal request internally and had a chat with the program manager. Should get an answer soon. Cheers John Breakwell (MSFT)
