Overview of a managed on-behalf-of model (preview)

Azure Data Manager for Manufacturing is architected and provisioned as a managed on-behalf-of model (MOBO) service using the Azure Resource Manager Resource Provider framework. The product is provisioned into the customer's tenant and subscription, thus allowing customers more visibility and control over these resources.  

Key advantages include:

  • Get more visibility and control over resources: Customers can see and manage the resources created by MOBO service in their subscription and apply their own policies and configurations to these resources.

  • Use rich security features: Customers can use standard Azure security features, such as network isolation, private endpoints, Azure policies, Azure Monitor, and Defender services, to protect and monitor their workloads running on MOBO resources.

  • Get automatic support for standard Azure capabilities: Customers can benefit from the automatic support for standard Azure management and other capabilities, such as Activity Logs, Metrics, Azure Quotas, and billing. Customers can also easily adopt new Azure capabilities as they're being rolled out.
