Business value

You can interact with an intelligent what-if analysis model in Microsoft Sustainability Manager to compare your current carbon emission trends against the forecasted carbon emissions impact of changing variables in your business model. Forecasting uses your organization's current practices, plus supplemental sustainability data, to intelligently predict the potential impact on your organization's carbon emission footprint over time. The what-if analysis model also simulates the impact of changes in product mix, planned production quantities, and improvements in short term water consumption efficiencies for products produced by your organization.

Feature details

What-if analysis uses an intelligent model to forecast the carbon emissions impact over time of changing business practice variables.

You can view the analysis output within the Analytics area of Microsoft Sustainability Manager, or you can extract the data from Dataverse and extend it through custom Power BI reporting. The aim is to easily enable decision making across sustainability managers, procurement officers, facility managers, and any other users that want to leverage smart sustainability data to drive reductions in their sustainability impact.
