1.3.3.3 Modifying Templates

A set of default templates is documented in [MS-CRTD]. However, a customer is free at any time to create new templates, delete existing ones, or modify templates.<5> A template is a normal directory object accessed through LDAP. Any new or existing software capable of modifying LDAP objects can be used. By editing certificate templates, a customer can express custom certificate issuance policy.
