Long_Filenames Initialization Variable
Specifies Yes (default) if you want Visual SourceSafe to use long file names, which are longer than the MS-DOS standard. Specify No if you want to use short file names in MS-DOS format.
Syntax
Long_Filenames = {Yes|No}
Remarks
Long file names use complete paths, including file names, and must not exceed 255 characters. The use of long file names is particularly relevant under Windows NT, which supports file systems that use long file names and the MS-DOS FAT system.
You can set this variable in your Ss.ini file directly or in Visual SourceSafe Explorer. In Visual SourceSafe Explorer, use the SourceSafe Options dialog box, View tab. Select the Always display MS-DOS format file names check box to set this variable to No.
