Managing definition updates for Forefront TMG

This section provides information about updating the various protection mechanisms available on Forefront TMG. The Update Center node in the Forefront TMG Management console provides the administrator with centralized management and monitoring of definition updates for protection mechanisms in Forefront TMG. Forefront TMG can be configured to check for updates to these definitions and install them automatically.
Choosing an update method
Updated definitions for protection mechanisms are available via Microsoft Update and Windows Server Update Services (WSUS).You can configure Forefront TMG to connect to Microsoft Update directly or to receive definition updates via WSUS. A WSUS server provides a centralized update source for computers in your organization.
