New categories appearing on WSUS

Hello folks!

 

Today you will see two new product categories in your WSUS Synchronization Options dialogs: Windows Server 2008 Server Manager – Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) Dynamic Installer and Windows Server 2008 Server Manager Dynamic Installer.

Windows Server 2008 Server Manager Dynamic Installer category enables Windows Server 2008 Server Manager to dynamically discover when new server roles are available.

Windows Server 2008 Server Manager – Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) Dynamic Installer category allows Windows Server 2008 Server Manager to install the current version of the WSUS, currently WSUS 3.0 SP1, when the update management role is selected for install. Once WSUS is installed, the WSUS server can be managed from within Server Manager experience.

    When will (KB952155) be release to WSUS and When will the dot net 3.0 sp1 be applicable for xp systems with service pack 3

    Please, add 2 new product categories:

  • Exchange Server 2007 Enterprise Anti-spam and
  • Exchange Server 2007 Standard Anti-spam instead of Exchange Server 2007 Anti-spam category, and maybe 3 new categories instead of Windows Server 2003:
  • Windows Server 2003,
  • Windows Server 2003 x64 and
  • Windows Server 2003 Itanium. Thank you!

    Why has MS made the WSUS role available inside the Server Manager Console, but not installable via the servermanagercmd command?  It shows up as a role, but there is no [] bracketed install name to install with.  I would call this 'semi-integrated' as nice as it is. Cheers
