Important

The 2023 release wave 1 plan covers all new functionalities planned to be delivered to market from April 2023 to September 2023. In this article, you'll find the product overview and what's new and planned for ISV experiences.

Overview

ISV experiences provide global software vendors and ISVs with the necessary tools and capabilities required to build applications using Microsoft Power Platform and Microsoft Dynamics 365, or to embed low-code capabilities into existing products. We also offer capabilities to monitor and manage applications after deployment to customers and publishing to Microsoft AppSource. Using ISV Studio you can monitor, install, and use published applications.

In the last release wave, we made it simpler to sell apps and iterate faster through license pay-as-you-go for Power Automate. In this wave, we'll continue adding support for additional products, starting with Power Apps. We will also make it faster to submit updates to apps to improve the value of automated application updates introduced last year.

Enable Power Platform ISVs to scale better
In 2023 release wave 1, we're making it even simpler to use Microsoft Power Platform to scale your business and reach more customers. Building on the Azure Pay-As-You-Go meters announced in 2022 release wave 2, as an ISV you'll now be able to sell your IP by charging the consumed Power Platform units directly to your own Azure subscription without having to ask your customers to procure the required Power Platform licenses themselves.

If you're an existing ISV on another platform or an Azure SaaS ISV, you can also offer low code options to your customers by embedding predefined business process templates into your software and enable your customers to take advantage of all the capabilities of a low code platform with zero friction.
