How to Connect to System Center Online

To connect to System Center Online, an Asset Intelligence Synchronization point site system role must be installed. Before installing this site role, an authentication certificate (.pfx) file must be obtained from System Center Online. A System Center Online authentication certificate is required to install the Asset Intelligence synchronization point site system role and can be obtained only by Software Assurance (SA) license customers.

Before beginning the following procedure, ensure that the computer hosting the Configuration Manager console that will be used to connect to System Center Online to obtain the System Center Online authentication certificate has Internet connectivity and that the MVLS login and required SA license information is available.

注意

The information in this topic applies only to Configuration Manager 2007 SP1.

To connect to System Center Online

  1. In the Configuration Manager console, navigate to System Center Configuration Manager / Site Database (<site code> - <site name>) / Computer Management / Asset Intelligence.

  2. Right-click Asset Intelligence, and click Connect to System Center Online to open the Microsoft Volume Licensing (MVLS) home page.

  3. On the MVLS home page, log in to the Web site and complete the necessary requirements to obtain a System Center Online authentication certificate.

  4. Save the System Center Online authentication certificate (.pfx) file in a network share location. Security should be configured on the network share location so that it is accessible only by the account that will be used to import the certificate when installing the Asset Intelligence synchronization point site system role from within the Configuration Manager console.
