Tuning Groove Server Relay

This procedure describes how to change tuning settings for Groove Server Relay.
This procedure requires that Groove Server Relay is installed as described in Install and configure Groove Server 2010 Relay.
To change tuning settings for Groove Server Relay
Open the Control Panel from the Start menu and then double-click the Groove Relay Control Panel item. The Server page appears.
Click the Tuning tab, set field values as described in the table that follows this procedure, and then click Apply.
Note
If you make any changes to the Groove Relay Control Panel settings while the Relay server is running, you must restart the Groove Relay service for the changes to take effect.
Tuning settings Settings Data Directory and Reset to Default
Select Data Directory to change the Relay server Data directory.
Select Reset to Default to restore the Relay server Data directory to the default installation directory.
Note
To ensure optimal Relay server performance, locate the Data directory on a separate physical disk from the operating system.

Default: Relay server installation directory
Enable Delayed Log Writes
Select Enable Delayed Log Writes to accelerate Relay server processing by allowing database updates to complete without requiring that changes be immediately written to disk.
Warning
Delaying log writes is not recommended because it risks data loss if the Relay server fails. Consult your Microsoft Support representative for more information.
Default: clearedMaximum SSTP Message Size
Edit the Maximum SSTP Message Size field to specify the maximum message size that the Relay server will accept from SharePoint Workspace.
Warning
Changing the maximum SSTP message size from the default value is not recommended. Consult your Microsoft Support representative for more information.
Default: 250
