System Center Integration Pack for System Center Service Manager 2010

The integration pack (IP) for System Center Service Manager 2010 is an add-in for System Center 2012 - Orchestrator that enables you to use System Center Service Manager 2010 to coordinate and use operational data in an existing IT environment comprised of service desk systems, configuration management systems, and event monitoring systems, by combining the Service Manager IP with integration packs for other service desk products including specifically BMC Remedy IT Service Management Suite, BMC Atrium, and HP Service Manager 7 and HP Service Center 6.2.
With this integration pack, you can also create workflows that interact with and transfer information to the integration packs for System Center Operations Manager, System Center Data Protection Manager 2010, System Center Configuration Manager, and System Center Virtual Machine Manager.
Important
System Center Service Manager 2010 and System Center 2012 – Service Manager share the same version of Microsoft.EnterpriseManagement.Core.dll. Installation of System Center Service Manager 2010 IP and System Center 2012 – Service Manager IP on the same runbook server is not supported.

The U.S. English date format (month/day/year)

Registering and deploying the integration pack
After you download the integration pack file, you must register it with the Orchestrator Management Server and then deploy it to runbook servers or clients. For more
To register and deploy the integration pack
Copy the Service_Manager_2010_Integration_Pack.oip integration pack file to a location of your choice on the runbook server that the Orchestrator is running.
Confirm that the file is not set to Read Only as this can prevent unregistering the integration pack at a later date.
Click Start, point to All ProgramsMicrosoft System Center 2012Orchestrator. Right-click Deployment Manager and select Run as Administrator.
In the left pane of the Deployment Manager, expand Orchestrator Management Server. Right-click Integration Packs and select Register IP with the Management Server.
In the Select Integration Pack or Hotfix pane, click Add. Locate and select the Service_Manager_2010_Integration_Pack.oip file that you copied in step 1. Click Next.
In the Completing the Integration Pack Wizard dialog box, click Finish. The End User Agreement dialog box appears. Click Accept. The Log Entries pane will display a confirmation message when the integration pack is successfully registered.
In the left pane of Deployment Manager, right-click Integration Packs and select Deploy IP to Action Server or Client. Select Service Manager 2010 Integration Pack, and then click Next.
Select the runbook server or a computer with Runbook Designer installed, on which you want to deploy the integration pack, click Add, and then click Next.
In the Installation Options dialog box, select the options that apply to this deployment, and then click Next.
To choose a time to deploy the integration pack, select Schedule installation check box, and then select the time and date from the Perform installation list box.
Select one of the following:
Stop all running runbooks before installing the integration pack to stop all running runbooks before deploying the integration pack.
Install the Integration Packs without stopping the running Runbooks to install the integration pack without stopping any running runbooks.
In the Completing Integration Pack Deployment Wizard dialog box, click Finish. When the integration pack is deployed, the Log Entries dialog displays a confirmation message.
Warning
If you did not configure a deployment schedule, the integration pack deploys immediately to the computers that you specified. If you configured a deployment schedule, verify that the deployment occurred by verifying the event logs after the scheduled time has passed.
Configuring System Center Service Manager 2010 connections
A connection establishes a reusable link between Orchestrator and a System Center Service Manager Server. You can create as many connections as you need to specify links to multiple servers. You can also create multiple connections to the same server to allow for differences in security permissions for different user accounts.
To configure the System Center Service Manager 2010 connections
In the Runbook Designer, click the Options menu, and select System Center Service Manager. The System Center Service Manager dialog box appears.
On the Connections tab, click Add to begin the connection setup.
In the Name box, enter a name for the connection. This could be the name of the Service Manager server, or a descriptive name to distinguish the type of connection.
In the Server box, click the ellipsis button (...). Select the Service Manager server, and then click OK.
In the Credentials section, type the Domain, User name, and Password that the Orchestrator server will use to connect to the Service Manager computer.
In the Monitoring Intervals section, enter the Polling and Reconnect intervals that the Orchestrator server will use with the connection to the Server Manager computer. The default is 10 seconds.
Click Test Connection. When the success message appears, click OK.
Click OK, and then click Finish.
