Add or remove images in a project

Once you have created a project, the first step in creating your composition is to add images to it. You can add images to your project in either the Import workspace or the Compose workspace. Deep Zoom Composer supports PNG, JPEG, TIFF, and BMP file types.

To add an image to a project

  1. In the Import workspace, in the upper right of the application window, or, in the Compose workspace, in the Images panel, click Add image. If you don't see the Add image button, make sure you are in the Import workspace or the Compose workspace by clicking either ImportDd409092.bc2934ea-062b-41b6-930a-ec7ae8364e8b(en-us,Expression.10).png or ComposeDd409092.a942460f-aa6c-4f8e-8660-875e053c644e(en-us,Expression.10).png at the top of the application window.

  2. In the Add Image dialog box, browse to the image that you want to add.

  3. Select the image that you want to add. You can select multiple images by holding the CTRL key while selecting images. You can also select a range of images by holding the SHIFT key and clicking the range of images you want to select.

  4. Click Open.

    Important

You can't import two images that have the same file name even if each image has a unique file path.

    Tip

You can add images from Windows Explorer to the artboard or to the image gallery in the Import workspace, or to the Images panel in the Compose workspace, by dragging them into Deep Zoom Composer.

To remove an image from a project

  • In the Import or Compose workspace, right-click the image you want to remove, and then click Delete from Project.

    Note

Deleting an image from a project will automatically remove it from the composition.
