Implementing 802.1Q Support in a Miniport Driver (NDIS 5.1)
Note NDIS 5. x has been deprecated and is superseded by NDIS 6. x. For new NDIS driver development, see Network Drivers Starting with Windows Vista. For information about porting NDIS 5. x drivers to NDIS 6. x, see Porting NDIS 5.x Drivers to NDIS 6.0.
In order to support 802.1Q packet information, a miniport driver must be implemented to mark packets with 802.1Q information and to remove such marking from packets. A miniport driver that supports 802.1Q packet information must also be able to specify such support. The following topics describe how to implement 802.1Q support:
Initializing, Setting, and Retrieving VLAN Identifiers
Legacy Packet Support for Packet Priority
Specify Packet Size for Sends and Receives
