Hi @Charlene Smit

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We understand the inconvenience of not being able to see who can email is from at a glance.

This issue, where Outlook shows the email size instead of the sender's name, is often related to a corrupted view setting. Please follow these instructions to quickly restore your inbox's normal view.

Reset View from the menu

This is often the quickest way to get things back in order for the folder you're in.

  • Open Outlook and navigate to the folder where you see the problem (e.g., your Inbox).
  • Go to the View tab on the ribbon.
  • In the Current View section, click Reset View.

This should restore the default column settings and display the sender's name correctly.

Use the /cleanviews command

If the simple reset doesn't do the trick, this command is a bit more powerful and will reset all your custom view settings across all your Outlook folders.

  • Close Outlook completely.
  • Press the Windows key + R on your keyboard to open the Run dialog box.
  • In the Run dialog box, type outlook.exe /cleanviews and then press Enter.
  • Outlook will restart, and all view settings will be restored to their default configurations.

Adjust Columns Manually

Sometimes, even after a reset, a column might still be a bit stubborn. You can manually ensure the "From" column is there and "Size" isn't in the wrong spot.

  • In Outlook, go to View tab > View Settings > Columns...
  • Ensure "From" is listed on the right. If not, find it on the left and click Add ->.
  • If "Size" is listed where the sender's name should be, select it on the right and click Remove <-.
  • Click OK to save your changes.

We hope one of these solutions helps you get your Outlook display back to normal quickly.
