I start to work at another school and on my home desktop I still see my previous school emails and can't log out to log in with my new school outlook details. I tried to delete on my desktop the previous school profile, but I couldn't. How can I log out or delete my old school profile from Outlook?

Hi @Zoltan Nemes [STAFF]
Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.
To help you better, could you let me know:

  • Is the previous school account still listed under File > Account Settings > Account Settings in Outlook?
  • Have you tried going to Control Panel > Mail > Show Profiles to remove the old profile?
  • Is the old account still connected under Windows Settings > Accounts > Access work or school?
  • Are you trying to use a Microsoft 365 school account or a different type of email (like Gmail, Yahoo)?
  • Do you see any error messages when trying to remove or sign out from the old account? If yes, please share the screenshot.

In the meantime, I recommend trying these steps:

  1. Remove the old account from Outlook:
    • Open Outlook.
    • Go to File > Account Settings > Account Settings.
      Untitled
    • Select the old school account and click Remove.
      Untitled
  2. Delete the old profile:
    • Close Outlook.
    • Open Control Panel > Mail (Microsoft Outlook). (If view by filter as Category, please change to Small icon or Large icon to see full options**)**
      User's image
    • Click Show Profiles, select the old profile, and click Remove.
      User's image
    • Create a new profile and set it as default.
  3. Disconnect the account from Windows:
    • Go to Settings > Accounts > Access work or school.
    • Select the old school account and click Disconnect.
      Untitled
  4. Sign out from Office apps:
    • Open any Office app (like Word or Excel).
    • Click your profile icon and choose Sign out.
    • Then sign in with your new school account.
