I have accidentally deleted Favorites folders I've been compiling for over a year! I thought I was just deleting them from my Favorites Bar, but I guess I deleted them completely. I have searched endlessly for where they could have gone, and just keep getting instructions on restoring deletions when there's a trash can icon on your Favorites sidebar in Edge versions before 128.0.2739.42. What about after that?? I've tried finding my bookmarks.bak file and importing it, as well, but I can't make that work either. Please help!
Managing bookmarks, browsing history, and downloads in Edge on Windows 11
Hello @DSciarrino
Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A and informed us about the issue. I understand that losing your bookmark must be very frustrated; unfortunately, to recover a deleted bookmark is quite impossible. Your Favorites folders are stored as a local file on your computer, in case you have System Restore or File History enable on your Windows OS, you may be able to roll back to the previous version by:
If this step failed, the data might be removes permanently from both your local PC and cloud service. In the future, I would advise use Export favorites feature in Edge to manually save your bookmarks site.
