Guest cannot schedule meeting in Teams Channel

I created a Teams channel for collaboration and later invited a guest user. After that, I changed their type to Member, added them as an Owner of the channel, and also assigned them guest invite roles so they could invite members from their tenant.

The issue I’m facing is that the user is unable to schedule meetings within the Teams channel. Could this be due to any role or license limitations? I have already reviewed our Teams policies, and there are no restrictions preventing guest users from scheduling channel meetings.

Please find the ss of error.

Hi @Rugved Rajendra Vaidya

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.

Regarding that guest cannot schedule meeting in Teams Channel.

Guests in Microsoft Teams have limited permissions by design. Specifically:

  • They cannot create or schedule meetings directly in a channel
  • They can join meetingschat, and collaborate depending on the settings, but scheduling is restricted.

This is a security and governance feature to ensure that only members with appropriate permissions can manage meetings and resources.
