This case is very weird I've been looking around for abt 3 hours now and I still cant fix it, I can login to my account but I cant like go to my Microsoft account so like I login sort of then if you click the profile picture on the website and click "my Microsoft account" to view your info and stuff it makes my "login" again and loops and by loop i mean it logs me out and tells me to login and puts me on a screen that says to sign in to view my Microsoft account and has a blue box that says sign it. Its just not letting me sign it at all, I have changed my password, removed one of the aliases becuase I thought maybe it was getting confused with 2 emails linked, I've cleared caches, tried a different device, tried different internet and nothing is working. I NEED HELP

Hi R,

Thank you for posting to Microsoft Q&A Forum.

What you’re running into is a login loop bug where Microsoft keeps redirecting you back to the “Sign in” page instead of showing your account dashboard. Since you have already tried the basics (different device, different browser, clearing cache, changing password, removing aliases), here are some more focused fixes:

1. Try a direct link to bypass the loop

Instead of going to account.microsoft.com, try going directly to these pages:

Sometimes the main portal is stuck in a loop, but these sub-pages work.

2. Force logout everywhere

This clears stuck sessions that can cause the loop.

3. Disable/Remove Microsoft Authenticator temporarily

If you are using Microsoft Authenticator app for login, sometimes it gets stuck in a redirect loop.

  • Go to https://aka.ms/mfasetup on another device or browser.
  • Temporarily remove the Authenticator method and add SMS or email verification.

4. Check if account is blocked

The error you mentioned earlier (“blocked for using multiple passwords”) could mean Microsoft put a temporary security hold.

5. Contact Microsoft Support (last resort)

If none of the above works, you will need Microsoft to reset something on their end.

  • Contact Microsoft Account Support
  • Select Microsoft account or Can’t sign in.
  • Explain clearly: “I can sign in, but the account portal keeps looping me back to the login screen. I have tried different devices, browsers, clearing cache, and password reset.”

Try the direct links to sub-pages first (#1). If that does not work, the “Sign out everywhere” option usually clears the stuck login state.
