Accessing Microsoft Teams for Education using school or organizational credentials
Hi @Rafal Sawicz,
Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Q&A forum.
I truly understand you're having trouble signing in to your academic account on Microsoft Teams and Outlook, while your personal account works without any issues. I appreciate the steps you've already taken, including clearing the cache and reinstalling the apps.
Because your account is managed under your school’s domain, only your school’s IT department has the necessary permissions to help you check licenses with your account.
If you don't know who your IT administrator is, I recommend the following:
- Ask your teacher.
- Contact your institution's academic affairs office. They should be able to direct you to the right IT contact.
Moreover, some education licenses, such as Microsoft 365 A1 or A3, are designed primarily for web access and may have limitations when used with desktop or mobile apps.

To ensure full access, you can ask your school’s IT administrator to check your license type in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center by following the step below:
- Go to the Microsoft 365 Admin Center
- Navigate to Users > Active Users
- Search for your name or university email address
- Click on your profile, then go to Licenses and Apps
- Check if the Office 365 A1 or A3 licenses is selected
- Under “Apps,” make sure the checkbox for Office desktop apps is enabled
- Save any changes if needed
Once the A1 or A3 license is assigned and the desktop apps are enabled, you’ll be able to download and activate the full Office suite without any additional cost.
