When I try to open Teams meetings from a link in my Google Calendar, the meeting never loads. I just see the Teams loading screen. This occurs in both a web browser and on the App. The meetings that cause issues come from external partners, even ones which share files with me over Teams.

    Hi @Nick Jordan

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.

Based on your description, it seems like the meetings that fail to load may be hosted by external organizations, which can sometimes introduce compatibility or access challenges.

Here are some steps that may help migrate the issue:

1/ Use the correct Teams app Version

Ensure you're using the work version of Microsoft Teams.

If you have both personal and work accounts, using the wrong version may prevent meetings from loading properly.

    2/ Clear Teams cache

Clear the cache in Teams for Windows

    Method 1: Reset the app

    • Type settings in the search box, and then select the Settings app from the results.
    • Select Apps > Installed apps and then type Microsoft Teams in the search box.  User's imageUser's image
    • Locate the New Microsoft Teams app from the results, select the More options button   on the right, and then select Advanced options.  User's image
    • In the Reset section, select Reset.
    • Restart Teams.

    Method 2: Delete the files

    • If Teams is still running, right-click the Teams icon on the taskbar, and then select Quit.  User's image
    • Pressing Windows+R to open the Run dialog box.
    • In the Run dialog box, enter the following path, and then select OK.
    • %userprofile%\appdata\local\Packages\MSTeams_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Microsoft\MSTeams  User's image
    • Delete all files and folders in the directory.
    • Restart Teams.

Clear the cache in Teams for macOS

    • If Teams is still running, right-click the Teams icon in the dock, and then select Quit or press Command+Q.
    • In the Finder, open the /Applications/Utilities folder, and then double-click Terminal.
    • Enter the following commands, and press Return after each command:
    • rm -rf ~/Library/Group Containers/UBF8T346G9.com.microsoft.teams rm -rf ~/Library/Containers/com.microsoft.teams2
    • Restart Teams.

3/ Try a different browser or incognito mode

Open the meeting link in a private/incognito browsing session and sign in using the account that has access to the meeitng. (Shortcut: Ctrl + Shift + N)

    4/ Check external meeting permissions

If the issue persists only with external meetings, the organizer may need to confirm that:

    • The meeting allows external participants.
    • The link isn’t restricted to their organization’s domain.
