I reset my pc this morning and when I went to re-login into my account using verification code because I forgot my password it was showing "try another verification method". I then used the sign-in helper and it showed that my account has been blocked due to multiple incorrect password attempt which is not true at all cos the last time I logged into the account was months ago.

I filled up the account recovery form but it instantly sent me an email saying "Unfortunately, we have determined that the information you provided was not sufficient for us to validate your account ownership. We take the security and privacy of our customers very seriously and are committed to protecting your personal information."

Please help me. I have all my passwords saved in Sticky NotesAnnotation 2025-10-18 000539

Hi! Sorry to hear that you have trouble with this, when you get the promp for verification, please select the option below to use a different verification method, this should show any other option that you have available on your account, if you cant access any of those, select i dont have any of this options, and follow the prompts, you might get a chance to add a new method in 30 days.

    Dear Arghya

Thank you for explaining your situation again . I’m very sorry for the frustration you’ve experienced. I understand you’ve already tried the recovery form and verification methods without success. Unfortunately, since the standard recovery steps have not worked and contact support is unsuccessful . Please note that you can create a new account and contact support as per Step 4 here . Here is the only best solution available:

    Submit the Account Reinstatement Form

This is the official escalation path for blocked accounts.

    • Go to: Microsoft Account Reinstatement Form
    • Provide as much detail as possible:
      • Old passwords (even partial or older ones)
      • Exact subject lines of recent sent emails
      • Frequent contacts’ email addresses
      • Billing info (if you made purchases)
      • Submit from a device and location you previously used

    Warm Regards

    Dear Arghya ,

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Q&A Community. I understand that you are having trouble accessing your Microsoft account after resetting your PC. Please follow these steps to resolve the issue:

    1. Use the Microsoft Account Recovery Form

Go to Account Recovery Form and submit the form again with as much detail as possible:

    • Previous passwords (even old ones).
    • Exact subject lines of recent emails you sent.
    • Names of frequent contacts.
    • Billing information if you have made purchases. Submit the form from a device and location where you previously signed in for better recognition.

    2. Try the Account Unlock Option

    • Visit Reset Password Page
    • Select "Forgot password?"
    • If the "Enter password" window is still open select Forgotten your password?
    • If not, select Reset password below, enter the username name for the account you're trying to reset, and select Next

    3. Check for Recovery Code

If you previously generated a recovery code, you can use it to regain access. If not, once your account is restored, create one at Create new Microsoft Account for future emergencies.

    4. Contact Microsoft Support Directly

    If all recovery fails:

    1. Visit this website:  Contact - Microsoft Support
    2. Type your problems in the search box there. ( For example, Contact support.)
    3. Now click on Get Help and select Contact Support below.
    4. Go to the Products & Services tab and choose the Outlook category
    5. On the Category tab, choose based on your actual problem, such as cannot sign in.
    6. Go to Confirm.
    7. Choose to chat with a support representative or request a call back.

Note: The support contact team only works at certain times, so if the last window shows that it's unavailable, try opening it again the next day. If you prefer phone support, you can leave a phone number. This way, they can call you and help you.

    5. Additional Tips

    • Retry the recovery form up to two times per day with further details.
    • Once access is restored, update your security info (phone, backup email) immediately.
