Using Outlook for iOS for personal email and calendar management
Hi Brigette Bryan,
Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.
Follow these steps to remove and prevent spam events and spoofed emails in your Outlook Calendar on iPhone:
1. Remove Spam Calendar Events
Spam events often come from subscribed calendars or hidden sources on your iPhone.
Step 1: Delete Subscribed Calendars
- Go to Settings
- Tap Mail
- Select Accounts
- Choose Subscribed Calendars (if available)
- Delete any calendar you do not recognize.
Step 2: Check the Calendar Application
- Open Calendar
- Tap Calendars at the bottom
- Look for suspicious calendars or those with a .ics URL
- Tap Information (i) > Delete Calendar
Step 3: Remove Profiles if Spam Persists
- Go to Settings > VPN and Device Management
- If you see any unknown profile or configuration > select Remove Profile
2. About Fake “Self-Sent” Emails
These are spoofed emails, not from your account. You can:
- Report as Junk or Phishing in Outlook to improve filtering.
- Create a Rule in Outlook Web to block emails where “From” is your own address but invalid.
3. Safely Delete Spam Events in Outlook iOS
If you see spam events in Outlook iOS:
- Open the event > select Delete
- When you delete a spam event by selecting Delete, the app will not send a response to the sender
