In Excel, how do you clip the text in a cell rather than wrap it

Google sheets has the option to clip the text in a cell and Excel does not seem to have that ability. I don't want to wrap the text for a number of reasons. Is there a way to submit this to Microsoft so they can add the feature?

I can understand the importance of controlling how text is displayed in a worksheet, especially when wrapping text is not suitable for your use case. Based on your description, currently, Microsoft Excel does not include a built-in setting to explicitly clip or truncate text within a cell. By design, Excel displays text by allowing it to overflow into adjacent empty cells or wrap when the “Wrap Text” option is enabled. There is no native option to force text to remain on a single line while being clipped at the cell boundary. 

While I truly understand how important this functionality is for your workflow. I recommend submitting feedback directly to Microsoft via the Feedback Portal to help prioritize this feature in future updates.

Just in case... Text is allowed to overflow only if it encounters no content in the adjacent cell(s). In this screenshot the same content is entered in all 4 rows but the overflow is clipped [not deleted]: in rows 2,3 &4
