    Hello Shailini Ponnou

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A Forum. I understand how disruptive it is when emails suddenly stop arriving while sending still works fine.

Could you confirm whether you’ve tried the steps mentioned in the AI Assist reply above? If yes, did you face any difficulties with those steps?

Since this started recently and you can send emails without issues, please try the following steps to solve the receiving problem:

    1. Check email storage

If your email inbox storage is full, you won’t receive new messages in any app or on the web

    2. Update or reinstall Outlook

Installing the latest version will remove all bugs or glitches from the app

    3. Check mail on Outlook web

    • Sign in at Outlook on the web (or your specific email provider's web portal) via a web browser (Safari/Chrome)
    • Send an email to yourself from a different account to see if it's arrived

    4. Switch to "Legacy Outlook" (Temporary fix)

    • Click on the Help menu in the top bar.
    • Select Revert to Legacy Outlook to see if your emails arrive. User's image

Thank you for your understanding and patience. Feel free to let me know how it goes and which steps you've already tried.

If you are unable to receive emails in Outlook on your Mac while being able to send them, it could be due to several reasons. Here are some common causes and potential solutions:

    1. Connection Issues: Ensure that your internet connection is stable. If you are on a metered connection, Outlook may restrict certain functionalities. You might see a warning about the metered connection, which could affect email delivery.
    2. Outlook Profile Issues: Sometimes, the Outlook profile may have issues that prevent it from receiving emails. You can try creating a new profile to see if that resolves the issue.
    3. Folder Hierarchy Corruption: If the folder hierarchy in your mailbox is corrupted, Outlook may not be able to locate the inbox properly. This can happen if the Sent Items folder is misconfigured. Check your folder structure to ensure everything is correct.
    4. Updates: Make sure your Microsoft 365 installation is up to date. Sometimes, issues are resolved in newer updates, so check for any available updates for your Office applications.
    5. Server Issues: If you are using an Exchange-based email account, there may be server-side issues affecting email delivery. You can check with your email provider to see if there are any known issues.

If these suggestions do not resolve the issue, you may want to consider using the Support and Recovery Assistant for Microsoft 365 to diagnose and fix Outlook connection problems.
