Hi @Huff Jennifer

Thank you for posting your question in Microsoft Q&A.

To assist you better, could you please provide additional information.

What is your current New Outlook version and build? You can check this in Outlook > About Outlook.

First, you could try to remove and re-add the account. In Outlook, go to Outlook > Settings > Accounts > Remove your account then add the account back.

If the issue persists, may I ask where did you download the app? (From App Store or directly from Microsoft Website)

If you got the app from App Store, please uninstall it and download it via Update history for Office for Mac - Office release notes | Microsoft Learn

You can either choose the latest version (16.104) or previous build if you don't meet the behavior before. My recommendation is Outlook version 16.102.x.

I also found this Microsoft Support article: Outlook for Mac and Outlook Mobile intermittently stop syncing - Microsoft Support. The Outlook team is investigating this issue, and it might be related to mailbox synchronization.

Please try and let me know if it works for you.

It seems that you are experiencing an issue where your Outlook for Mac shows that it is connected, but new emails are not syncing in your Inbox or specific folders until the application is restarted. This type of problem can sometimes occur due to issues with the Cached Exchange Mode or conflicts in the processing of incoming emails.

Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

    1. Clear Offline Items: Go to the Inbox folder, right-click, and select Properties. In the General tab, choose "Clear Offline Items" and then resynchronize the folder by pressing Shift+F9.
    2. Restart Outlook: Since you mentioned that restarting the app resolves the issue temporarily, this might be a necessary step until a more permanent solution is found.
    3. Check for Updates: Ensure that your Outlook for Mac is updated to the latest version, as updates often include bug fixes.
    4. Rebuild the Profile: If the issue persists, consider creating a new Outlook profile to see if that resolves the syncing problem.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, you may want to reach out to Microsoft support for further assistance.
