Microsoft 365 features that help users manage their subscriptions, account settings, and billing information.
Hi, May Phyo Paing
Thanks for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A forum.
Sorry for this frustrating experience that you're facing. That message usually means the checkout session for the student offer is stuck or invalid on the service side, often because the flow was started in an old tab or there is a pending purchase state on the account.
Here are some suggestions you can try to resolve this issue:
Confirm you are using a personal Microsoft account
The student offer must be completed with a personal Microsoft account. Your .edu address is only for eligibility verification, it should not be the account you sign in with at checkout.
Restart the purchase flow from a clean session
Sign out of all Microsoft accounts, open an InPrivate/Incognito window, then start again from the official offer page (do not reuse a bookmarked checkout page or an old tab).
Use the verification email link to complete checkout
After you are verified, you should receive an email at your student address with a link that routes you back to the verified checkout page to finish the transaction. Open that link in a fresh browser session.
Clear any pending subscription state, then try again
Go to the Microsoft account “Services & subscriptions” page, and if you see a Microsoft 365 entry that looks pending or partially created, select Manage and cancel it, then re-run the student offer sign-up.
If it still fails, request a backend reset from Support
It is best to reach out to Microsoft Support for direct assistance:
- Visit this website: Contact - Microsoft Support
- Type Contact in the search box.
- Now click Get help, and Select Contact Support or Sign in to contact support below.
- Go to the Products and services tab, and choose either Microsoft 365 and Office category.
- On the Category tab, choose Manage account subscription.
- Go to Confirm.
- You can now choose the option of Chat with a support agent on your web browser.
Important Note*: The Chat support team only works at certain work times, (Monday to Friday: 9am to 6pm. Saturday and Sunday: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.) so if the last window says you are not available, try to open it again the next day. If you prefer phone support, you can leave a phone number. That way, they can call you and help you. *
Thank you for your patience in reading, I hope this information has been helpful to you.
