"Dynamic Alphanumeric sender ID is not available to your azure tenant"

I'm looking to enable Dynamic Alphanumeric sender ID so we can send one-time passcodes via SMS to Spanish mobile numbers.

'Request an upgrade' send me via various help and support things to 'you need a paid support plan to make a request'. I paid. This is what was offered to me - it doesn't feel like this is the right forum to 'request an upgrade', but, here we are. (I'm on Developer Support Plan)

Please 'prioritized support by Microsoft Q&A Engineers', provide me with the magic incantation to make this work. I would not have gone through the brain damage of building our infra on Azure if there was any mention that this facility wouldn't be available to me when I came to activate it.

Many thanks for your time

Hi @LemonIT,

Thank you for providing information.

Spain is fully supported for Alphanumeric Sender ID, including dynamic (non-registered) usage for sending one-way SMS such as OTPs to Spanish mobile numbers.

The message "Alphanumeric sender ID is not available to your azure tenant" (with the Enable button disabled) is expected behavior even when all eligibility criteria are met. Microsoft must manually activate the feature at the tenant level for your subscription/tenant before the portal button becomes clickable. This is not due to your Developer Support Plan, country mismatch, or subscription type, it's a backend provisioning step.

User's image Quick Solution:
You need to need to create support request.

  1. Check your Azure subscription's billing address is in a supported location (Spain is eligible).
  2. In Azure portal > Your ACS resource > Alphanumeric Sender ID >Dynamic tab > Click Enable Alphanumeric Sender ID.
  3. If button is unavailable/grayed out > Create a support ticket Request Microsoft to enable Alphanumeric Sender ID for your tenant

You can create free Quota request and then on Additional details tab explain that you need Alphanumeric Sender ID capability enabled for your ACS. Normally you would create Technical support request for this, however, that requires minimum Standard support plan. Please follow my instructions below to avoid getting stuck in endless loop:

1. Navigate to this link to start the process:

https://portal.azure.com/#create/Microsoft.Support

2. Enter quota in the box and click Go
