Academic Verification not working

I am trying to redeem the Microsoft 365 offer with LinkedIn premium for 12 months but keep getting a looping error message.

I am trying to sign up with my personal account as advised ( because it won't let you do it with a work or student email)

And I get to the point where I need to enter my details, but it jumps straight to this screen and won't let me continue or start over.

I have contacted my university support but they haven't been able to come up with anything either.

I have also tried with multiple browsers and devices.

Any suggestions? The offer is only available until the 28th of this month and I wouldn't want to miss it..

Many thanks in advance 🙏

Hello JJ Petrova!

Thank you for reaching out to the Q&A forum.

From what you’ve described, you’re trying to redeem the Microsoft 365 and LinkedIn Premium 12‑month offer but the verification page keeps looping and jumps straight to the final screen with the “We are sorry, we cannot process your request right now” message. Here are a few things you can try:

1. Make sure you have a Microsoft 365 Education trial subscription first

Before you begin the verification, make sure you already have a Microsoft 365 Education trial subscription. If you don't have a trial subscription, visit https://www.microsoft.com/education/products/office enter your school email address, and select Get started

2. Try using your school’s Eduroam network

If possible, connect using your university’s Eduroam Wi‑Fi when attempting verification.

3. Make sure you’re on the correct country website

Scroll to the bottom‑left corner of the page and switch the region if it’s incorrect.

4. Email check

Sometimes the verification email ends up in your Junk, Spam, or Promotions sections, so make sure to check those as well so you don’t miss it.

The error message in your screenshot Please try after some time... can also appear when the verification system is temporarily overloaded. Try again in another time.

If you retry later but the issue continues, please contact Microsoft Support (Live Chat) for direct assistance. Here’s how:

Go to: https://support.microsoft.com/home/contact

  • In the search hox, type: Unable to verify student eligibility for 12‑month free offer
  • Hit "Get Help"
  • Scroll down to choose Sign in to contact support
  • Follow the on-screen prompts to reach Support Team.

Tip: Support Team availability can vary, and retrying at a different time often helps.
